Dispensing Happiness

A good cook is like a sorceress who dispenses happiness.-Elsa Schiapirelli

That's me, the magical good cook.

Borrowing from my friend Dexygus, I've created my own food blog.

Read of my exploits in the kitchen! Salivate over the descriptions of fabulous desserts and savory meals I've concocted!

No, seriously...go ahead. It'll make my day.

Tea, Take Two

.

This whole 'tea for dinner' thing is kind of taking off around here.

Lots of lovely little bites, endless cups of tea. It's rather perfect, actually. Makes you sit and relax, whether you want to or not!

Most recently, there were lots of crumpets (which Alex has been eating for breakfast, with a sprinkling of cinnamon & sugar), and little sandwich rounds of cucumber on dilled cream cheese, and Welsh Rabbit fingers.

Smoked salmon topped with sour cream, on bread that had been browned in butter.

And little cheese tarts (they went back in the oven after their photo op, and got much browner); just eggs and cheese and cream in pie crusts.

Filling, but light. And a fun, easy-going evening with the family.

We're kicking off our fourth year of Blog Party by taking a look back at some of our favorite first-year themes. This month, we're revisiting a BP favorite, Retro Party!

We're doing a bit of time-travel, and bringing back some of the weird and wonderful dishes & drinks from the 20's through the late sixties. You won't want to miss it! R.S.V.P. no later than Thursday, 21 August. Hope to see you there!

I so want to come over when you are having tea for dinner--yum! I just tried out a new tea place this weekend with some people from my tea class. It was good (nice scones) but your spread looks even better.

Thanks for leaving your music list on my post--you have very good taste. But I expect that from anyone who loves Buffy and lists The Philadelphia Story as a favorite movie on their profile!

Deb, by the time you got off that plane, you'd need a nice cup of tea and a cool sandwich! You're always welcome, though.

Hee...The Philadelphia Story. Just re-watched it Friday night!
