TV Dinner
.
Some nights, you just want snacky foods. Things to nibble.
Friday night, Matt and I planned to watch the first disc from 'The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.', and because we don't have a good Asian take-out place, did a little cooking ourselves.
Ok. Not all of it falls under the umbrella of 'cooking'. Steaming these vegetarian, store-bought, buns isn't really cooking.
But frying up the panko-crusted, faux shrimp qualifies!
The vegetarian potstickers; these we made.
Carrot and ginger, water chestnuts, tofu, garlic, cabbage, a bit of sesame oil. Extremely yummy.
Cheating, again. Egg flower soup...from an envelope!...for Matt, and vegetable broth mixed with white miso for me.
But I'll tell you what: major cooking or no, it was the perfect meal for watching Bruce Campbell.

4 Thoughts for food:
i always call it a smorgasboard when i have a snacky dinner. yours looks like a ton of cooking still went on though! mine usually ends up being meats and cheeses with maybe some crackers and olives. or whatever else looks good.
Rachel, I think that's an excellent name for it!
Looks like a great meal! We have what we call "appetizer nights" at least once a week/ Smorgasboard dinner sounds like an even better name for it!
Kristen, we do something like this every so often.
Matt has this weird thing where, once he starts eating, he only has so much time before he gets full. Doesn't matter how much he's had...he's battling a ticking clock.
So, for him appetizers and a meal aren't an option. Which is why we do this very thing.
And also, how Blog Party came about!
