Death of a Mixer

It's time to say goodbye to my sturdy Black & Decker mixer.

About a week ago, I was mixing up a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Somewhere near the end (right before the 'add chips' stage), my mixer started to smoke.

And then it quit.

I was almost done, and I had a lot going on, so I just let it go.

Yesterday, Matt gave it a try. No dice. It was then that he noticed the cord...it was bare in places...it melted!

So long, faithful mixer. I shall miss you.
