Too Much Cheese...is there such a thing?
.
Just a sampling from our 'cheese drawer'; as you can see, we like cheese.
Don't misunderstand. We don't over-cheese our foods. But neither are we afraid to cook with it.
So when I saw a recipe for a Four Cheese Panini; I mean, how could I resist?
As it turns out, I wish I had.
Lovely rosemary ciabatta rolls, and fabulous cheeses. Basil leaves. I even tossed in some fresh rosemary.
But in the end, it was just (gasp) too much cheese.
The mozzarella, fontina and provolone blended together, leaving the trio of cheeses indistinguishable from each other. And the Gorgonzola overpowered the rest.
And it really was just...too much cheese.
We only ate half a sandwich each, and I never did get around to finishing that second half...

Stephanie,
Damned Earth Fare! BTW, that Dubliner cheddar make a great grilled cheese sandwich if you now feel an urge to get back to basics.
That is a great looking cheese drawer! And I agree with Kevin - Dubliner makes a fabulous sandwich.
Holy Cow!---Wait, I think you really believe that!!
You sure do love cheese. I have quite a bit, Havarti, cheddar, fake American, mozarella....but not 18,000,000,000 like you!!
Yes, foodcrazee...it is. And we didn't even buy any new stuff last weekend!
Kevin...I agree!
It used to be the produce section at the Whole Foods in Berkeley; now? Cheese counter at Earth Fare. It's absolute food porn!
We've used the Dubliner for just that thing, in fact. Good stuff.
Hi Fiber; and thanks!
It's a very good cheese; agreed.
C'mon Cameradawtor, it's not quite that many!
And what I really want to do is buy one of the big wheels of...well, anything...just to say I've done it.
You know, next time I have sixty-one hundred dollars lying around, I'll do it.
The sandwich looks good,anyway!
Thanks, Emily!
I have never really tried cheese except for the Kraft singles & only recently I sampled Parmesan...but those sandwiches look yummy. And fries too...The cuisine of 'fast food' is really USA's best gift to the world :)...says a fries fanatic !
Oh, Spicehut...now that you're livingin California, you absolutley must try some of it's cheeses!
And I really hope America isn't known for fake cheese and artery-clogging foods...gulp!

--- :) Well outside the US, Macdonalds is synonymous with US!! I love French fries...unhealthy I know...
Oh yum! I could live in your cheese drawer...
Too bad about the sandwich though, I can see where it would just be too much going on at once.
Oh, Spicehut! That's so depressing! Ray Kroch surely didn't intend for this to happen, did he?
Of course, when Matt went to India, he did visit a McDonald's!
Erika...there wouldn't be enough room! As it is, I have to shove everything back into place just to close it.
